The ICMM Board met on 20.02.2025 with Mr Richard Rodgers, Australian Ambassador and Mrs Diana Padežanin, Political and Economic Research Officer in this Embassy.
During this visit, the Ambassador was informed for the work of the ICMM, where it was discussed for the opportunity to cooperate in the specific projects for the mining sector in the future, the main challenges and the need to improve the infrastructure and technology in the existing mines and as well increasing capacity of the workforce to face the requests of the sector. The Ambassador informed them that in Australia, where the mining sector is now developed, the challenges are related mainly to the protection of safety standards, environmental protection and adapting to the new technologies in order to improve the productivity and efficiency in sector.
Mr Richard Rodgers informed the Board for the specific steps that the Australian Embassy has undertaken to cooperate with Kosovo to increase capacities in mining sector in Kosovo, and as well for the opportunity of the wide state delegation to participate in the world Conference in mining sector, ALTA, in Perth, West Australia.
