On 21.09.2016, at the invitation of the Parliamentary Committee for Economic Development, Infrastructure, Trade and Industry; ICMM attended the “Public Hearing for the supervision and implementation of the law on mines and minerals.
In this meeting were invited various state institutions, independent experts and representatives of various mining companies.
ICMM was represented by Mr. Musa Shabani – Chairman of the Board, Avdi Konjuhi and Kemajl Zeqiri members of the Board and Ms. Selevete Grajcevci – Head of the Legal Office.
Mr. Shabani presented comprehensively and concrete legal collisions and difficulties that ICMM encountered during the implementation of LMM, noting the bank guarantees, the development of areas of interest, dispute regarding areas with Forest Agency and stressed the importance of strengthening the legal framework for the prevention and prohibition of illegal operations.
ICMM also noted the importance of completing the legal framework for liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons, fragmentation of mining legislation for mining activities in large scale, and for small and medium mining activities.
In the following discussions by the participants, it was stated the importance of completing the legal framework with secondary legislation, harmonization of laws and procedures to create “one-stop-shop” in ICMM.
