The visit of the Delegation from Albania accompanied by Ambassador H.E. Mr. Qemajl Binxhozi

Within the continuous and institutional cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Albania, to strength the mutual economic, social and cultural development as well as within the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Agency of Natural Resources (NANR) and the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals, Qemajl Minxhozi – Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo, Mr. Viktor Tushaj-NANR Executive Director, Mr. Azbi Arapi, Director of NANR Mining Directorate and Mr. Edmond Goskolli Counsellor for Mines were for a work visit today to the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals.

The delegation was welcomed by the ICMM Board Members: Avdi Konjuhi, Kemajl Zeqiri, Festim Kutllovci, Executive Director Ramiz Krasniqi, Chief Inspector of Mines Fatmir Gerguri and Inspector of Mines Jahir Gashi.

After the introductory speech of Mr. Konjuhi and presentation of the ICMM’s role in the development of the mining sector in the country, it was held an open and friendly discussion on the importance of cooperation between two institutions respectively countries, especially regarding mineral-bearing zones in Kosovo-Albania border zones.

During the discussions, Mr. Zeqiri asked the Albanian Ambassador for support on the promotion of mineral resources from the Embassies of Albania, where in this case H. E. Mr. Minxhozi assured that the Albanian Diplomacy will provide support to the ICMM delegations in the international conferences and presentations, as facilitating meetings as well as distribution of promotional materials.

For his part, Mr. Management Viktor Tushaj informed ICMM Management about the role of this institution that it has for the Republic of Albania and he required frequent meetings of the professional teams of the two institutions.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Zeqiri has made a presentation of the perspective mineral resources that Kosovo possesses with special emphasis on the importance of the zones of interest promulgated by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in 2008.
Both delegations agreed to intensify cooperation that will result in a written plan for the design and implementation of joint projects.
